PS1-style horror adventure

The Devil's Route is a free adventure title created by indie developer Ibrahim Oezhan. It is a first-person horror game that follows the experiences of a public transport bus driver. Players will be making rounds around the city at night, picking up and interacting with all kinds of passengers.

Similar to games like The Man in the Park or The Parking Lot, The Devil's Route features low-poly graphics reminiscent of classic PS1 games of decades past. It also has simple and intuitive controls, so players can start a new game and immerse themselves in the experience right away.

Night bus

The Devil's Route takes place in a typical city where you will take on the role of a driver of a public transport bus. Your shift starts at night, and you will be driving around following your designated area as you pick up passengers along the way. The whole atmosphere is complemented by poorly lit streets and an eerie silence that makes up an unsettling vibe.

For the driving part, you'll primarily be doing so in a third-person overhead view. When picking up passengers, it will switch behind the wheel to let you see and interact with them directly, and this is where things get interesting. You'll have short dialogues with commuters about the most random and bizarre things. Depending on your answers, the night will develop into all kinds of scenarios.

As such, The Devil's Route boasts multiple endings you can unlock depending on your responses and actions throughout your gameplay. This is just as well since the game itself only takes a few minutes to finish each run. That said, even if you manage to get every single ending there is, the total runtime still only clocks in under an hour, which again, is not a lot.

A short ride to hell

To sum up, if you're into PS1-style horror games, then you will like what The Devil's Route has to offer. The graphics are spot on, the controls are simple, and the gameplay serves up the classic dark and atmospheric experience that that era of gaming was known for. Sadly, the whole thing doesn't last for long. If you don't mind that, play it now.

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.
